Construction and Inspections
IMPORTANT COVID-19 NOTICE:
- March 23, 2020 - Governor Inslee issued his "Stay Home, Stay Healthy Proclamation" (20-25) which halted most construction except for essential activities and preventing or repairing damage.
- June 5, 2020 - Snohomish County was approved to enter Phase 2, effectively allowing all permitted construction projects to operate, with the only added requirement being the implementation of a COVID-19 safety plan. See link below.

REQUESTING AN INSPECTION:
- Please schedule inspections directly through MyBuildingPermit.com
- Inspection related questions can be emailed to devserv.admin@edmondswa.gov or you may call 425-771-0220. When leaving messages, please provide your phone number and email address.
CONSTRUCTION HOURS: Sound or noise originating from construction sites as a result of construction activity is exempt from noise limits during the hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturdays. Construction activity noise on Sunday and Federal Holidays is limited to 55 decibels.
- Report all sound or noise violations to 911.
ADDITIONAL INSPECTION INFORMATION:
- Requests to be made a 24 hours prior to the date needed. Projects may need inspections from multiple departments including, Building, Planning, Engineering and Fire.
- Inspections are performed Monday - Friday, unless otherwise stated at the Development Services Department
- Inspections are typically performed between the hours of 8am-3:30pm. When requesting an inspection, please include your preference of AM or PM.
- Requests for final engineering inspections require 48hrs notice.
- For FINAL project inspectins, Engineering inspections (when required by permit) must be schedule in advance of the Building final inspection.
REMINDERS:
- Approved plans and inspection card shall be on site and available to the inspector at all times.
- Utility installations shall not be backfilled until approved by the inspector.
- Concrete pours shall not commence until forms have been approved by the inspector.
- Temporary erosion and sedimentation control is the responsibility of the contractor/owner and shall be maintained throughout the project.
- Traffic control shall be provided to MUTCD standards and per approved plans.
