City Clerk's Office


The City Clerk’s Office authenticates, records, and maintains the City’s official legislative acts. It assures compliance with legal requirements for Washington State municipalities, including the accuracy, organization, accessibility and protection of all essential public records.

Public Records

The Edmonds City Code designates the City Clerk as the Public Records Officer for the City. To submit a public records request, please visit the Edmonds, WA Public Records Request Center. Responsive records will be assembled for your review and/or reproduced in either a hard-copy or digital format. Please note there is a charge for paper copies.

City Council

The City Clerk’s Office schedules and coordinates City Council weekly agendas and meeting packet, and prepares City Council meeting minutes. The Clerk's Office is also responsible for public notification of City Council meetings, public hearings, and other activities.

Codes, Ordinances and Resolutions

All ordinances and resolutions adopted by the City Council are on file in the City Clerk's Office.

Additional Services

The City Clerk’s Office issues employee parking, residential and visitor parking permits, and processes Special Event Applications. The Clerk's Office also works with the State Business Licensing Service to administer the city business license program. It also oversees City contracts, and recorded documents. Other services include City Hall switchboard/reception, mail/postage, and purchasing.
